Jones Day named 2018 Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year by D.C. Bar
Jones Day’s Washington Office has been named the 2018 Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year by the District of Columbia Bar. The Washington Office was previously recognized for this same award in 2009.
The award is presented to a firm for its "excellence, achievement, and commitment to providing legal services to the District’s low income and/or disadvantaged individuals and/or organizations serving such individuals."
Outgoing D.C. Bar President Patrick McGlone presented Jones Day’s Washington Office with the award at The President’s Reception held on June 12, 2018 at The Mayflower Hotel.
The D.C. Bar honored Jones Day for "cultivating a culture of community service, where pro bono work is a true priority, and for setting a shining example for all Bar members."
Judith Sandalow and Jennifer Masi of the Children’s Law Center commended Jones Day for having "built one of the most sophisticated in-house pro bono programs in the District," taking complex cases and bringing "the promise of family, health, and education to dozens of low-income, at-risk children."
