December 2011
Jones Day was selected to receive The National Legal Aid & Defender Association's 2011 Beacon of Justice Award honoring law firms that have innovative public-private partnerships that protect equal just for all through appellate litigation. The review committee took into consideration the investment of time and legal representation that Jones Day provided on a variety of appellate ligation matters. The award was presented to the Firm on December 6, 2011.

Celebrating exceptional volunteerism, the Lawyers Alliance for New York named Terri Chase, Jones Day New York, a recipient of the 2011 Cornerstone Award in recognition of her extraordinary pro bono work on behalf of CAMBA, DOROT, Community Mediation Services, Claremont Neighborhood Center, and Boys & Girls Harbor.

On November 21, the Pittsburgh Office hosted a luncheon to thank all the volunteers from Jones Day and other local law firms who participated in the Pro Se Pro Bono ADR Program in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Jones Day San Francisco will be honored at the 25th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards luncheon on January 26, 2012. Jones Day will be awarded the Father Cuchulain Moriarity Award, which recognizes attorneys who have made extraordinary pro bono contributions to the Lawyers' Committee Asylum Project.

In November 2011, the Los Angeles Center for Law & Justice ("LACLJ") Board voted to honor Jones Day Los Angeles attorney Jason Liang as "Volunteer of the Year" for the commitment to representing victims of domestic violence through LACLJ's ADVOCATE program.

On November 9, 2011, as part of New York Legal Aid Society's 2011 Pro Bono Awards, Jones Day New York received the Pro Bono Publico Award for "outstanding service to The Legal Aid Society and its clients."
